Venus Retrograde 2026: Scorpio to Libra, October 3 to November 13

Venus is retrograde from October 3 to November 13, 2026, moving from Scorpio back into Libra. What it reviews, the key dates, and what it means for your sign.

You scroll back to last spring in your camera roll and notice who you look happiest next to. That small, slightly unsettling reread is what a Venus retrograde is for. Venus has been retrograde since October 3, and this one tells its story in two signs. In Scorpio, the questions are about trust, depth and what you're holding onto. On October 25 Venus backs into Libra, and they turn to fairness and the give-and-take. It turns direct on November 13, which gives you a few weeks to get honest about what you value before it starts moving forward again.

The dates

  • September 10: Venus entered Scorpio.
  • Saturday, October 3, 3:10 a.m. ET: Venus stations retrograde at 8°29' Scorpio.
  • Tuesday, October 20, 2:43 a.m. ET: Venus squares Pluto (Venus at 3°04' Scorpio, Pluto at 3°04' Aquarius).
  • Friday, October 23: the Sun enters Scorpio at 5:38 a.m. ET, then meets Venus at 11:39 p.m. ET at 0°45' Scorpio. This is the middle of the retrograde, when Venus passes between Earth and the Sun.
  • October 24: Mercury joins in and stays retrograde until November 13, so the two overlap for three weeks.
  • Sunday, October 25, 4:56 a.m. ET: Venus moves back into Libra.
  • Monday, October 26, 12:12 a.m. ET: the full Moon in Taurus peaks at 2°46' Taurus.
  • Wednesday, November 4, 5:20 a.m. ET: Venus sextiles Jupiter (24°44' Libra and Leo).
  • Tuesday, November 10, 1:39 a.m. ET: Venus sextiles Mars (23°09' Libra and Leo).
  • Friday, November 13, 7:20 p.m. ET: Venus stations direct at 22°52' Libra. Mercury stations direct earlier that day, at 10:52 a.m. ET.
  • Friday, December 4, 3:14 a.m. ET: Venus returns to Scorpio.

What a Venus retrograde is

Retrograde motion is apparent. From Earth, Venus looks as if it's sliding backward against the stars, but it never physically reverses. Mercury does this three or four times a year, so it's practically background noise. Venus does it about every year and a half, for roughly six weeks (this one lasts 41 days). The last one ran from early March to mid-April 2025 and the next begins on May 10, 2028, which is why this one feels like an event.

Venus covers attraction, relationships, pleasure, values and taste: what you want, what you find beautiful, what you spend on joy, who you let close. When it appears to back up, astrologers read all of that as up for review. You revisit, re-decide and remember what you actually like. A planet that was retrograde at your birth is a different story, and retrograde planets in a birth chart explains how.

The Scorpio stretch: who gets the real you

Scorpio is fixed water: feeling that runs deep, stays put and stays private. The questions come with weight. Who gets the unedited version of you? Where is your trust real, and where is it a habit nobody's checked?

Then there's what you hold onto because letting go would feel like losing. Someone you used to like watches your story, and you're more curious about who you were back then than about them. Scorpio loyalty is all or nothing, and this stretch asks whether you've been giving all of it to things that stopped giving anything back.

Jealousy and possessiveness are worth a look too, as information about what you value rather than a verdict on you. You catch yourself checking whether the person you like is online and ask what you're actually afraid of. Then notice what kind of intensity you're drawn to, and whether it's depth or just volume.

October 20 to 25: the intense middle

The Scorpio stretch gets louder before it ends. On October 20, Venus squares Pluto, the planet of power, intensity and control. Pluto is also one of Scorpio's ruling planets, the modern co-ruler alongside Mars. What you want grinds against whatever has a grip on you: all-or-nothing attraction, jealousy, a power imbalance in a relationship or around money. Read it as a push to be honest about what you're gripping, with the drama optional.

On October 23 the Sun enters Scorpio and, that night, meets Venus right at the start of the sign. With the two of them in the same spot, who you are and what you value line up, which makes this a reset point for what you love and want. Say it plainly, even if only to yourself. Mercury joins the retrograde the next day, so for three weeks how you say what you want and what you want are both under review. Venus backs into Libra on October 25, and that makes October 20 to 25 the retrograde's emotional peak.

The full Moon in Taurus follows right after, on October 26. Venus rules Taurus, so that full Moon's question of what is enough lands harder in the middle of a Venus review.

The Libra stretch: is this fair?

Libra is cardinal air: balance, negotiation, relationship, harmony, good taste. Venus rules Libra, so from October 25 the review gets very relational, and cardinal air wants every exchange to go both ways. The question is whether yours do.

You realize you always pick the restaurant, plan the trip, and still split everything down the middle. Who compromises in your life, and who decides? How do plans actually get made with a partner or with friends, and who quietly adjusts? Libra keeps the peace, and this stretch asks where you've been keeping it at your own expense.

Taste and social life get a reread too. Does your calendar still reflect the people you like? Do your wardrobe, your playlists and your weekend plans still sound like you, or like whoever you were when you set them up?

The gentler moments in November

Two easier moments arrive while Venus is still retrograde. On November 4, Venus sextiles Jupiter, and Jupiter's generosity opens the door to warmth, fun and good company, as long as somebody actually makes the plan. On November 10, Venus sextiles Mars, and wanting and doing line up a little: a small chance to act on a desire or have the gentle conversation, if you take it. Both suit reconnecting and small honest moves better than grand gestures.

What to do with it

All of this is optional, and all of it is small.

Write the honest list. Put down what you want from your love life, your friendships and your free time, the way you'd say it to yourself and not the way you're supposed to want it. You'll reread it on November 13.

Revisit an old favorite. An album, a restaurant, a friend, the sweater at the back of the closet. Notice what still feels exactly like you and what you've quietly outgrown.

Check where the pleasure money goes. Your bank app shows three subscriptions for things you stopped enjoying months ago. Treat it as a values check rather than a budget exercise, since what you spend on joy says what you care about right now.

Name one pattern. Pick a single recurring thing about who you're drawn to and write it in one sentence. One is plenty.

Slow down the fairness conversation. Try "let me think about it" where you'd normally say yes on reflex, then bring the real answer to whoever's on the other side of the split.

The usual rules, rewritten

The folklore says don't start a relationship, don't get engaged, don't change your hair, don't buy anything nice, and your ex is coming back. Skip the whole list. Nothing is banned, and if an ex reaches out, that's an ex reaching out. You decide what it means. What's worth keeping from the rules is the pace: anything big deserves a slow, deliberate yes in any season.

Venus retrograde for your sign

Read the section for your rising sign, since houses count from it. If you don't know your birth time, read for your Sun sign instead, the usual horoscope shortcut. Everything here uses whole sign houses: your rising sign is your 1st house, the next sign is your 2nd, and so on around the wheel.

Aries

Your 8th house holds vulnerability, intimacy and whatever you share with other people, money included, and that's where the retrograde begins. Look at which parts of your life you share by choice and which by default. On October 25 Venus backs into your 7th house of one-to-one partnership, and the question becomes whether the partnership has two people steering.

Taurus

Venus rules your sign, so this is your planet doing the rereading. The Scorpio weeks run through your 7th house of partnership and ask who you've chosen and why. After October 25 Venus works through your 6th house of daily routines and work, and the questions turn practical: how much of the effort in your week is shared, and how much do you just absorb?

Gemini

Which of your routines do you keep out of loyalty to an older version of you? The retrograde begins in your 6th house of daily routines and work, so that's the first thing to reread. Then Venus slips into your 5th house of romance, creativity and play, and the question gets lighter: when did you last do something purely because it was fun?

Cancer

Venus opens in your 5th house, where romance, play and creativity live, so the early weeks look at what you do for pleasure and who gets to watch you enjoy it. From October 25 it settles into your 4th house of home and private life. Look around the place you come back to every night: does it still match who you are now?

Leo

The Scorpio half sits in your 4th house, which covers home, roots and private life, so the early weeks are a quiet look at where you feel most like yourself. Venus then crosses into your 3rd house of conversation, siblings and everyday surroundings, and things get chattier: what you say out loud, and to whom.

Virgo

Notice what you read, what you say and what you keep repeating to yourself, because the first weeks run through your 3rd house of everyday communication and learning. When Venus reaches your 2nd house on October 25, the reread moves to personal resources and values: what you pay for, what you keep, and whether any of it still reflects what you care about.

Libra

This retrograde travels from what you own to who you are. It begins in your 2nd house of money and values, which is about what you spend and what you keep, and on October 25 it lands in your own sign and your 1st house of self and presentation. From there it's personal: how you come across, and whether it still says what you want.

Scorpio

Venus began in your own sign and your 1st house, so the retrograde starts with you: how much of yourself you show, and which parts stay behind a closed door. On October 25 it backs into your 12th house of retreat and rest, a quieter place to sort out what you want before you say any of it out loud.

Sagittarius

The first half falls in your 12th house of solitude, endings and rest, so the review starts in private, with what you're ready to close out. On October 25 the questions go public as Venus enters your 11th house, where friends, groups and shared hopes live: who's in your circle, which friendships feel mutual, and which hopes you'd like some company for.

Capricorn

The Scorpio weeks sit in your 11th house of friends, groups and shared hopes, so the retrograde starts with your circle: who gets your real news and who gets the highlight reel. After October 25, Venus moves into your 10th house of career and public role, which brings reputation into focus. What do you want to be known for, and is the work you're good at work you still want?

Aquarius

Your 10th house of career and achievement hosts the early weeks, so ask what success means to you, as distinct from what looks impressive. From October 25 Venus shifts to your 9th house of beliefs, higher learning and long-distance travel, which stretches the review to what you believe about love and what you'd like to go learn, read or see.

Pisces

The story you've been telling about what love should look like gets questioned first, since the retrograde begins in your 9th house of beliefs, higher learning and faraway places. On October 25 Venus drops into your 8th house, where the themes are intimacy, trust and anything you share with another person. The review lands on how much of yourself you hand over, and on whose terms.

What to carry into November 13

Venus turns direct on the evening of November 13, and Mercury turns direct earlier that day. When it does, pull out the list you wrote. Cross off whatever turned out to be somebody else's idea of what you should want. Circle the lines that still sound exactly like you, and let those guide the small choices that come next. Venus doesn't leave Libra until December 4, so the fairness questions keep going after it faces forward.

Keep the list somewhere you'll find it. The next time Venus goes retrograde, you'll be curious which lines are still on it.
