Astrology for the Week of October 19, 2026

The week of October 19, 2026, day by day: Venus squares Pluto, Scorpio season begins, Mercury turns retrograde and the Hunter's Moon rises Sunday night.

This week starts roomy and ends crowded. Friday morning the Sun moves into Scorpio, and from there it's one thing after another: Venus reaches the middle of its retrograde, Mercury turns retrograde, Venus backs into Libra, and the Hunter's Moon peaks at the very end of the weekend. It's the busiest stretch of the fall.

Monday through Thursday has the room, so that's where the conversation or the plan you've been sitting on can happen. The weekend is for noticing what all that movement stirred up.

Day by day

Monday, October 19

Sunday's first quarter Moon, at 25°19' Capricorn, is behind you, and the Moon is now in Aquarius, where it stays through Tuesday. That mood is friendly, curious and a little detached: friends, ideas, doing your own thing. It suits answering the friend who asked to catch up. Say yes and name a day this week, because the weekend is about to fill up.

Tuesday, October 20

Venus squares Pluto at 2:43 a.m. ET, at 3°04' Scorpio and Aquarius, with Venus retrograde. You wake up already inside it. Venus is what you want and value, Pluto is power and intensity, and today they grind against each other: what you want runs into the question of who has the upper hand. All-or-nothing attraction, jealousy, or an uneven balance in a relationship or around money can be hard to ignore today.

Read it as a push to be honest about what you're gripping, starting with yourself. The Aquarius Moon helps by adding some distance, enough to find the plain sentence ("this is what I want") before the dramatic one.

Wednesday, October 21

Soft day. The Moon slides into Pisces at 8:35 a.m. ET, and the mood goes dreamy, creative and a little tired, which suits the middle of a week that's about to get loud. Leave the dishes, put on a movie you've seen ten times, and call it recovery.

Thursday, October 22

Nothing big is on the calendar, and the Moon is still in Pisces, so the mood stays drifty. If an email that matters is going out before the weekend, read it over once more before you send it. Then let the day be easy.

Friday, October 23

Scorpio season starts at 5:38 a.m. ET, when the Sun enters Scorpio for about a month, and the shared mood turns to depth and privacy. It's a season for the things you only tell one person.

The Moon is in Pisces until 3:53 p.m. ET, when it enters Aries and the afternoon turns quick and restless, with a pull toward starting something.

Late that night, at 11:39 p.m. ET, the Sun meets Venus at 0°45' Scorpio. This is the middle of the Venus retrograde, the point where Venus passes between Earth and the Sun. With the two of them in the same spot, who you are and what you value line up, which makes tonight a reset point for what you love and want. Try finishing the sentence "What I want right now is..." and write down the first answer, not the polished one. Venus has been retrograde since October 3 and turns direct on November 13, and the Venus retrograde forecast covers the whole stretch.

Saturday, October 24

Mercury stations retrograde at 3:15 a.m. ET, at 20°59' Scorpio, and turns direct on November 13, the same day as Venus. A station is when a planet seems to stand still, so Mercury's themes of talking, thinking and messages feel loudest right now. Retrograde motion is apparent: Mercury looks as if it moves backward against the stars, but it never physically reverses. The next three weeks are for review: rereading, revising and reconnecting with people you've lost the thread with. For the long version, there's a guide to what Mercury retrograde is.

The Moon is in Aries all day, so the mood is quick and a little impatient, and slowing down is the part you have to choose. In the morning you reread the email you sent two days ago and feel smug that you double-checked it.

Sunday, October 25

Sunday has a lot packed in. Before dawn, Venus backs into Libra at 4:56 a.m. ET, and the love-and-values review turns to fairness: who reaches out, who plans, whether the give and take feels even.

At 7:34 p.m. ET the Moon moves from Aries into Taurus, and the restless weekend settles into something slow and sensory, all comfort food and soft blankets. Then comes the Hunter's Moon, the folk name for the first full Moon after the Harvest Moon.

The full Moon in Taurus peaks at 12:12 a.m. ET on Monday, October 26, which is still Sunday night in Central and Pacific time: 11:12 p.m. Central and 9:12 p.m. Pacific. It lands at 2°46' Taurus, opposite the Scorpio Sun. Taurus is about comfort and persistence, so this full Moon asks what is enough: how much security, how much holding on, how much you actually need. Pluto at 3°06' Aquarius squares the full Moon, which makes it intense. A full Moon is a culmination, a chance to see where something has arrived and what you can set down.

After dark you step outside to look at the Moon and stay out there longer than you planned. If you want something to do with the time, the full Moon journal prompts are a good place to start.

How to use this week

If you want one move for the week, do the clear-headed talking and planning early, before the weekend crowds the calendar, and keep Sunday evening slow enough to notice how the full Moon lands. The October 2026 forecast has more on the Hunter's Moon and the rest of the month.
